Could this be the Lakes' most unexpected foodie gem? Tucked away in the heart of Lake Windermere, Toast is shaking up Cumbria’s culinary scene with bold, Korean-inspired flavours sandwiched between perfectly golden slices of toasted shokupan bread.
From crispy pork belly with gochujang glaze to kimchi-packed veggie melts, every bite is a delicious mash-up of East Asian flair and street food comfort. It’s the kind of place where your tastebuds go on holiday, even if you’re just stopping for lunch.
Set against the backdrop of Windermere’s rolling fells and glistening waters, Toast offers more than just a great feed—it’s a vibe. Grab your sandwich to go and picnic by the lake or settle in and watch the world go by with a cold Korean soda or local coffee in hand. There’s nothing quite like the crunch of grilled sourdough after a morning hike or paddle – especially when it’s layered with sticky bulgogi beef and tangy slaw.

Dog-friendly and perched right on the side of the lake itself, Toast is made for everyone from wanderers, weekenders, and anyone chasing great food off the beaten path. Just search “Toast Lake District” on Google Maps or head to toastlakes.com for the full menu and opening times. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Toast is the kind of discovery you'll want to tell your friends about – after you've finished eating, of course.

If you're looking for great views, amazing locally brewed beer, and the best chicken burger you'll ever eat... Look no further! Tucked away in the scenic Lincolnshire village of Rivington, Bun Chicken Bun is serving up seriously next-level Vietnamese inspired chicken sandos from the heart of the Rivington Brewery.
The brewery itself has a very special vibe, something that you dont get at most 'street food' spots or pubs – with the ‘Old House’ containing a wonderful bar and shop, where you can find craft beers from locally brewed pale ales to Lithuanian lagers, a beer aficionados paradise. If you’re driving on General Tires drink responsibly and buy some extra cans or bottles - a great souvenir or gift. However, enough about the beer, something much more important, and an absoulte absolute must try, the chicken burgers!

There is a huge variety of amazing and unique flavours, with the menu changing weekly with different specicals. From the K-pop and Heatwave burgers - absolute must eats, to the Rivingbun, with prosciutto, 'never known fog like it' beer and much more. Theres not much more to say other than you neeed to try these absolute flavour explosions - sweet, spicy, crunchy, and unapologetically loaded.
They also serve loaded fries, incredible sauces, and serious roadside vibes if you're stopping on the way to or from some of the amazing local naturual beauty. The Rivingbun is another one of the favourites, served with beer onions made with the local Rivington IPA beer, as well as prosciutto and a bunch of other mouth-watering contents.
The brewery also has a campsite right next door, and is more than dog friendly, when we visited there were several furry friends present – and this was on a quiet day. So whether youre camping for the weekend and soaking up all the brewery has to offer, or just pasing by on a walkies, the location has you covered on all bases. It really is a perfect #OFFROADEATS spot!

We’re not saying it lightly, but this might just be Wales’ best beachside pizza. Perched just off the golden sands of Rhosneigr in Anglesey, Pat’s Shack serves up wood-fired pizzas that taste like summer in every bite. Part of the laid-back and much-loved Oyster Catcher spot, this rustic shack might look unassuming, but the flavours coming out of its oven are anything but. From classic margheritas with bubbling mozzarella to inventive toppings that change with the tides, every pizza is crisp, smoky, and completely addictive.
Sitting on the dunes opposite, with the sea breeze in your hair and a slice in hand, Pat’s Shack is what beach food should be. It’s casual, it’s flavour-packed, and it’s got that unbeatable surf-town energy. Whether you’ve just come off the paddleboard, spent the day on the dunes, or are just chasing a sunset with something delicious, this spot delivers comfort food with a coastal twist – no cutlery required.

Just a stone’s throw from the beautiful Traeth Lydan beach and fully dog-friendly, Pat’s Shack is a no-brainer for day-trippers, campers, and anyone chasing flavour on the Welsh coast. Find it through the Oyster Catcher in Rhosneigr or pop it into Google Maps for easy directions. For menus, hours, and a taste of what’s firing in the oven this week, check out oystercatcheranglesey.co.uk. If youre in Anglesey any time soon, make sure to put this place on your list.

Best pub view in Wales? Look no further! We challenge anyone to find a more scenic pint than the one you’ll experience here, at the Ty Coch Inn, nestled in one of the most epic bays on the coast of the Llŷn peninsula. The pub is only accessible by foot, bike, or golf cart. But trust us, the walk is worth it. With views across the Irish sea towards Yr Eifl, it’s the kind of place where time slows down, conversation flows, and the sea breeze makes everything taste better. Whether you’re after a cold local ale or a no-fuss toastie, this iconic beachside boozer hits the spot.
Another spot steeped in history; the pub originally started life as a vicarage in 1823, before being opened as an inn in 1842 to feed hungry and thirsty shipbuilders from the nearby harbour.

Framed by rolling hills, turquoise tides, and colourful boats bobbing just offshore, Ty Coch feels more like a scene from a postcard than a real place. On sunny days, the grass outside turns into a laid-back festival of families, hikers, and beachcombers, all drawn by the unbeatable mix of views, vibes, and value. It’s not trying to be trendy — and that’s exactly why it’s perfect. A Welsh classic with charm to spare.
Dog-friendly and made for explorers, Ty Coch is one of those places you’ll talk about long after you’ve brushed the sand off your shoes. It doesn’t show up on your sat nav — and that’s half the magic. To get there, head to Morfa Nefyn and follow the coast path to the bay. For opening times, live music updates, and a peek at that view, check out tycoch.co.uk or plug it into Google Maps. It’s not just a pub, it’s a pilgrimage.

The UK’s gelato scene isn’t the most famous in the world, but we’re convinced its peaked in the Peaks... Nestled just outside Bakewell in the rolling hills of the Peak District, Tagg Lane Dairy is a must-stop for anyone with a sweet tooth and an appreciation for real farm to table produce. Their rich, silky gelato is made fresh on-site from the milk their Jersey cows produce – the quality of which is naturally sweeter, thicker, and totally irresistible. From Canadian inspired Maple and pecan or their great taste winning Argentinian inspired Dulce de leche, this place is a true delight of great flavours and even better produce behind them.
But it’s not just about the ice cream. Tagg Lane is a working farm, which produces some of the highest quality raw milk, and with its coffee bar, and shop – it’s a must-stop-at local institution surrounded by one of the most scenic stretches of countryside in the UK.
Sip on locally roasted coffee, grab a warm croissant, or treat yourself to one of their stacked milkshakes or waffles. The vibe? Relaxed, wholesome, and full of that feel-good Peak District charm. Whether you’re fuelling up for a day out or rewarding yourself after one, this place delivers.

Family-run, dog-friendly, and surrounded by postcard-worthy landscapes, Tagg Lane Dairy is as much an experience as it is a place to eat. You’ll find it along the A515 near Monyash – just pop Tagg Lane Dairy into Google Maps or head to tagglanedairy.co.uk for opening hours, seasonal flavours, and farm shop details. One visit and you'll understand why locals and road-trippers alike keep coming back for more.
